Introduction

This qualification covers key areas of management such as Leadership and Research with a wide range of optional units in areas such as Finance, HR, Marketing and Personal Development. It also provides entry to an MBA at a range of universities in the UK and overseas. The qualification typically takes 9 months full-time study to achieve and prepares learners for a range of careers.

 

Typical Age

This qualification is designed for learners who are typically aged 19 and above.

Qualifications

For learners who have recently been in education or training the entry profile is likely to include:

• one or two years’ study of Business, Management or related qualifications at a Higher Education Institution or a college or university offering higher education qualifications
• a level 5 qualification in Business, Management or related subjects for example an ATHE Level 5 Extended Diploma in Management
• other equivalent international qualifications.

Language

For those whom English is not their first language we recommend the following standards of proficiency in English language skills or an approved equivalent for this qualification:

  • IELTs 5.5
  • Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) B2
  • Cambridge English Advanced (CAE) 162 or above
  • Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic 42-49

 

Learners taking the Operations Management Pathway take two of the four mandatory units and then two of the five units from the Operations Management Pathway.

Logistics and Supply Chain ManagementThis unit will allow learners to gain knowledge and understanding of why supply chains are important to business organisations. The unit will allow learners to gain an understanding of how to resolve strategic supply chain management issues and to consider the impact of technology on supply chains.10No
Managing ChangeThe aim of this unit is to develop the knowledge, understanding and skills required to manage change within an organisation. Learners will develop an understanding of the need for managing change and the different models that can be used to support this process.10No
Risk ManagementThe aim of this unit is to help learners develop knowledge and understanding of the importance of managing risks in business organisations and enable them to develop an effective risk management plan.10No
